In Berlin, Austria wasted no time putting pressure on Poland, taking the lead within minutes. A precise delivery from Phillipp Mwene enabled Gernot Trauner to head in a sharp goal from close range.

A glaring miss by Nicola Zalewski could’ve equalized for Poland early on, but he sent the ball soaring. Nonetheless, they managed to level the score at the 30-minute mark.

A stroke of luck saw the ball deflect off Trauner and land perfectly for Krzysztof Piatek, who calmly found the net, capitalizing on Poland’s growing momentum.

Absence due to injury didn’t stop Poland’s icon Robert Lewandowski from entering the fray post the 60th minute. However, Austria quickly reasserted themselves with a goal from Baumgartner.

A strategic feint by Arnautovic allowed Baumgartner to misdirect Wojciech Szczesny and score calmly from distance.

Arnautovic clinched the victory, coolly slotting a penalty after Marcel Sabitzer was tripped by an onrushing Szczesny.

A late chance by Konrad Laimer nearly extended Austria’s lead, but his shot missed. Still, a draw against the Netherlands could now propel Austria into the last 16.

Brief on Data: Arnautovic Takes the Spotlight

At 35 years plus 63 days, Arnautovic joined the ranks of the oldest penalty scorers at the Euros, trailing behind Ivica Vastic and Cristiano Ronaldo. Despite sitting out the previous game, he dominated upon his return, engaging vigorously and winning multiple duels.
