90min’s final European player power ranking 2020/21: Week 21

Everything is heating up now.

We have some exciting competitions for titles and European places across the continent, and there is also the little thing in the Champions League quarter-finals that we can also digest. Do not blink, otherwise you will miss something.

You know the drill now. It’s time for 90 minutes to rank the top players in Europe right now, and this week we’re asking for some help from Oscar-nominated Minari to spice things up.

“Getting hurt is part of growing up.”

Lewandowski has not played for Bayern since March 20, but a hat trick in that game is what saves his place on this list.

Europe’s top scorer is expected to be out for at least a week, so it’s time to kiss Lewandowski goodbye for now.

“It’s only getting worse and worse.”

Atalanta crashed out of the Champions League and are now locked in a battle for a top four spot in Serie A, but in the midst of all that chaos, Muriel has killed it.

The ultimate super-sub against Real Madrid and added two more to the league since returning from international service. Muriel has 22 goals in all competitions, and he has only started 22 matches.

“We said we wanted a fresh start. This is it.”

Do not adjust your screens. Lingard is truly one of the best players in Europe today.

Few on the planet have matched Lingard’s production since joining West Ham. Eight goals and four assists in nine games is an unreal return for a player who was not good enough to earn junk minutes with Manchester United.

“Who cares if I drank a little pee? It was fun.”

The Champions League quarter-final did not go exactly well for Haaland, but hey, it must have been quite fun.

Now he can focus on getting his track back in the Bundesliga, where he has scored goals in just two of his last six matches.

“They have to see me succeed once.”

Lukaku has loved proving the world wrong this year. He was a “fat, overrated donkey” when he left England, and this summer he may return as a £ 100 million superstar.

The Inter man has been in outrageous form this year – nine goals and five assists in his last 11 games – and he has put his team on the brink of immortality in the title race.

“I’m not cute, I look good!”

Not everything Ronaldo does is beautiful today, but you will struggle to find many players who know how to get the job done better than him.

He is four goals clear at the top of the Serie A points lists, with two strikes in the last three matches that help his cause.

Mbappe was fantastic against Bayern | John Berry / Getty Images

“We can not save each other, but money?”

Can money save the Neymar / Mbappe partnership?

It’s not hard to see why PSG are so desperate to keep the Frenchman. Two goals against Bayern, two against Lyon and one goal and an assist against Strasbourg in recent weeks have put PSG back on track for the successful season that looked like a fantasy just a few months ago.

Silva is in unreal form | DANIEL ROLAND / Getty Images

“Grandma chose a good place.”

Has Silva chosen the perfect location in Frankfurt?

Portugal’s international deserves its place so high on these rankings. In 2021, he has only failed to get among the goal measures in two matches. 14 goals and five assists in 15 games so far this year is unreal.

Messi’s finish line is over Quality Sport Images / Getty Images

“Are you crying again? Because of anchovies?”

It’s not really time to press the panic button again, but Barcelona’s latest loss to Real Madrid will definitely blow the wind out of Ronald Koeman’s high-flying side.

The defeat means that Messi now runs two matches without a goal, after seeing a stretch of eight straight matches on the points side (with 12 goals) ended last week.

Moreno is getting better and better | Soccrates Images / Getty Images

“If you’re here for the first time, please stand.”

Welcome to the top of the table, Gerard Moreno.

No one has been as deadly in front of goal in recent weeks as Moreno, who has eight goals and one assist in his last six games for Villarreal. He’s in the shape of his life, and he will not give up this place without a fight.
