In Mali today, the movement to save the Azawad (MSA) condemns the massacre of eleven civilians two days ago, by an unidentified armed group, north of Ménaka.
According to MSA commander Moussa Ag Acharatoumane, several armed men on motorcycles broke into a camp populated by members of the Tuareg Ibogholitan community where they “sorted” eleven men whom they coldly slaughtered before removing all their livestock. . Moussa Ag Acharatoumane today calls for an examination of the security system that has been put in place in the region, according to him “unable to protect the population:” There are several armed men on several dozen motorcycles who burst into a camp north – west of Ménaka. “consciously these civilian populations in the armies. They sorted 11 and then they removed all the cattle in the area.”
“One fact I also want to clarify,” said Moussa Ag Acharatoumane, is that the massacre is nothing new. It has always happened in that area. Above all, today we see the dysfunctions in all these major security systems that our states and their partners have introduced. So today we ask that these systems and these important devices be examined, that the local people, the people of these areas are the core of the units that must restore peace and security in their area, because at present everything we are the company is showing its limits, so as not to say its inability ”.
