The joint mission of the various international institutions spoke in particular about the situation of the opponent Cellou Dalein Diallo, blocked in his home in Conakry by defense and security forces since last Wednesday. The headquarters of his UFDG party were also closed.

General Francis Béhanzin is the Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). It was he who read the final press release to the press this morning: “The joint mission also observed the special security arrangements taken around the residence of the UFDG candidate, Mr. Cellou Dalein Diallo, as well as the premises of his party following his statement on the results of the presidential election. The mission calls on the Guinean authorities to lift these measures in the perspective of an inclusive dialogue ”.

Find the perpetrators

With regard to post-election violence, the mission calls on the authorities to investigate the perpetrators and ensure that “the defense and security forces act with restraint and professionalism in conducting demonstrations”. According to the government, 21 people died. The opposition, for its part, counts about thirty victims.

Finally, the delegation calls on “all parties to make use of legal institutions and regulations” to resolve disputes arising from the election. She states that she paid “a courtesy visit” to Alpha Condé and left on Monday night. at the home of Cellou Dalein Diallo, the opponent who claimed “not to expect much from these broadcasts”.

Two vice presidents of the UFDG arrested just after the meeting with the diplomats were finally released about 1 hour 30 minutes later, according to one of them, Fodé Oussou Fofana, who claims to have been escorted home by the police director. the court personally. And members of the delegation were also asked about the report several Commissioners for Céni. These Commissioners who condemn irregularities in the voting process.

Competition for Ceni

In a statement dated Monday, Ceni disputes the “opacity in reporting results” condemned by its Vice President Mamadou Bano Sow. “Each candidate was represented in the 38 centralization commissions,” she confirms, adding that the totalization was carried out in “transparency”, as it consisted of all commissioners and that all the political parties as well as the observers were there. access.

Céni sees in the statement by Mamadou Bano Sow a political step because the vice president comes from an opposition party. The statement therefore claims that he broke his oath of neutrality and violated the principle of secrecy of considerations.

Appeal to the Constitutional Court

Ceni believes that it has finished its work and that only candidates at this time can appeal to the Constitutional Court. They still have until next Sunday to do so. Upon receipt of complaints, the Court has five days to deliver its judgment. The next deadline will therefore be the end of next week.

But this ruling can only take two forms, according to the spokesman for Céni Mamadi 3 Kaba: either the results are validated, or the election is canceled “completely”. The texts would therefore not allow for a partial resumption of voting in a single region, as proposed by the Vice-President.
