Somali Army Successfully Eliminates Top al-Shabab Leader in Lower Jubba Mission
Mogadishu (AX) — The Somali National Army, along with Jubbaland’s finest Dervishes, orchestrated a mission to topple a high-ranking al-Shabab figure last Friday in the northern regions of Lower Jubba, according to comments from government insiders.
This concerted military effort zoned in on the hotbeds of al-Shabab activity around Dharkeen Urur and Orgiyow in Lower Jubba.
Mohamud Ali Hussein, often tagged as “Qayliyow” within his circle, found his end during this strike. He was the mastermind behind surveillance, intelligence operations, and the strategic placement of landmines to lay ground for future assaults.
“Locals called him ‘Gobe’—a critical cog in al-Shabab’s wheel. He directed intelligence gathering and coordinated deadly landmines. His hands were red with the blood of innocents,” the Federal Government elaborated in a statement.
This operation came on the heels of recent reports by the Somali Defense Ministry, revealing over 95 al-Shabab militants meeting their demise in various incursions across Middle Shabelle, Galgadud, and Mudug’s north-central grounds.
