The two main candidates in the presidential election in Ghana clashed again this Thursday, November 26, through meetings on the issue of free high school education. This flagship action by President Nana Akufo-Addo has enabled more than 430,000 students to return to school. Rival Maisson John Dramani Mahama also claims paternity.
“Lies and manipulation will not win you over,” he said Nana Akufo-Addo to his main opponent John Dramani Mahama. During a meeting on November 26 in the center of the country, the outgoing Ghanaian president attacked the candidate of the new Democratic Congress (NDC).
Ghanaians do not have short memories; they are picky. Lies can not help my opponent in the presidency after his campaign sadly failed. pic.twitter.com/w2h47jUp5p

He accuses him of lying to voters by claiming the authorship of free high school education, which was started three years ago by the current president. The outgoing president said he was shocked by what he called “a propaganda campaign” led by his main rival.
Famous by the people
During a meeting in the north of the country, John Dramani Mahama reminded his supporters that he was at the beginning of this reform and accused the president of then rejecting the implementation. Critics swept away Nana Akufo-Addo, who explains that her rival had rejected her idea then because it was considered too expensive.
Their political quarrel illustrates the importance of free high school education in this presidential campaign. Since its implementation in 2017, it has been hailed by the majority of the population.
In less than two weeks, Ghanaian voters will go to the polls to elect their new president and deputies in the December 7 presidential and legislative elections.
