Guinea’s President Alpha Condé visited the Alpha Yaya Diallo military camp in the suburbs of Conakry, as well as the CMIS (Mobile Intervention and Security Company) camp, a unit of the national police and headquarters. of the High Command of the National Gendarmerie.

Two main themes in his speech to the security forces: the need to maintain a “civilized” order and respect for Guinea’s sovereignty from its foreign partners. “Our spirit of independence and sovereignty is not very popular outside. We value our sovereignty, we value our independence. We do not accept orders from other countries. We will never ask a country’s advice on what to do! The only advice that matters to me is the people of Guinea. It must be very clear.

We hold the election without a franc coming from outside because we no longer want people to think about our own affairs. So do not be surprised by the behavior of some states. But it does not matter, we know very well that Guinea is a victim of its will to defend its sovereignty.

And it did not start with me as Guinea was the only country that voted to “no” i58, which is not everyone’s taste. But you can be sure that Guinea will go further and further.

When you go out in protest, never carry a weapon. Your weapons must be non-lethal, ie. tear gas containers. I insisted a lot on this. We are a democratic country. Demonstrations are allowed. Under no circumstances should you be armed.

So I encourage you and congratulate you on your work. The government is behind you. But only, we ask you to always take civilization against the protesters ”.
