Several unions for public health care workers are demanding a new mobilization day, Tuesday 8 December. Hundreds of doctors gathered in Tunis on Friday. This protest movement after the death of a young colleague this week in the hospital.

It is the death of a 27-year-old doctor that causes this anger. On Thursday, he fell from several meters while climbing into a faulty elevator at Jendouba Hospital where he worked. A facility which, however, was visited by two ministers in a few months.

The next day, hundreds of doctors gathered in front of the Faculty of Medicine in Tunis. A mobilization is also underway in Sfax. For doctors, as well as for Internet users on social networks, this death reveals shortcomings and carelessness. A member of the Tunisian organization for young doctors, who is calling for a strike, is causing embezzlement and mismanagement in the public health sector.

In front of Parliament, in tears, Minister of Health Faouzi Mehdi, who himself visited the establishment of Jendouba in early October, admits that he was informed about the demolition of the lifts.
