UNSC puts more pressure on Farmajo over illegal time extension
MOGADISHU, Somalia – United Nations Security Council [UNSC] has continued to put pressure on outgoing President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo over the recently approved period extension, a move that rhymes with general opinion from members of the opposition.
Two weeks ago, Farmajo irregularly extended his term of office through the House of Commons, a move that has caused a political storm in the country and around the world. The president was due to leave office on February 8 this year after the end of his term.

The pact had allowed the country to continue with the clan-based electoral model, which would have allowed delegates to choose their preferred candidates in the advanced model instead of the universal suffrage.
