three quarters of the people of Malagasy want to be
Transparency International Madagascar conducted a survey of 1,700 people in three regions of the country. The purpose of this study is to know the population’s perception of vaccination, as the second wave of Covid-19 continues to wreak havoc on the island.
as reported from Madagascar, Laure Verneau
76% of respondents want to be vaccinated and approve of the introduction of vaccines against Covid-19. According to Transparency International, almost all respondents also want vaccines to be free, ie paid for by the government, and 92% want the free choice to be vaccinated or not.
With regard to measures to combat the pandemic, 56% of those surveyed believe that the measures taken by the state are sufficient. However, many believe that there is a lack of awareness of the Covid-19 variants and the current measures and insufficient monitoring of the application of these measures by the government.
The government has finally joined the Covax system
In view of these figures, Transparency International recommends that the CEO communicate openly about available vaccines or to ensure the correct delivery of medical interventions (including vaccines) to avoid speculation.
In connection with a terribly deadly second wave, Andry Rajoelina initially preferred to highlight Covid Organics, based on artemisia. He finally decided to join the Covax system at the end of March.
