the president speaks on nationwide tv

President Rajoelina spoke on national television and radio on Saturday, March 20th. The country, which has been exposed to another wave of pollution in recent weeks, has registered a total of 22,275 cases of coronavirus, including 345 deaths. Another wave amplified by the presence of the South African variant, the head of state said. During his intervention, the head of state in particular tried to respond to criticism and questions regarding the lack of access to vaccination against coronavirus in the country.

as reported from Antananarivo, Like Laetitia

“Personally, I have not yet been vaccinated and I do not intend to do so. This protects me, my family and me, ”declared Andry Rajoelina, presenting to the camera a box of CVO +, the Malagasy capsule made from the active principle of traditional plants. “The state is not against the vaccine,” but it remains “in the observation phase,” the president said, eagerly awaiting Malagasy at this point.

To justify this reservation, the latter also highlights the inadequacy or absence of refrigeration in certain areas of the country to store vaccines. “It happens that the oil intended for the refrigerator is stolen or disappears,” he explains. The latter stressed that he will consult the Academy of Medicine regarding the vaccine that could be suitable for Madagascar.

For now, the head of state prefers bet on CVO Malagasy artemisia-based decoction to prevent and cure Covid-19. It is distributed to the population in the four regions most affected by coronavirus: Analamanga, where the capital is located, Atsinanana, Boeny and Diana. From Monday, all healthcare professionals, soldiers and coronavirus patients will receive the capsule version, CVO +.

To fight this second wave, Andry Rajoelina ruled out incarceration, but asked for respect for barrier movements, wearing masks and banned meetings with more than 200 people. Sporting events must be held behind closed doors and in the open air and funerals are limited to ten people if the death is due to Covid-19. In the northwestern part of the country, the borders of the island of Nosy Be and the town of Majunga, which is experiencing a sharp increase in the number of cases, are closed for 15 days.

It is deviant to see that despite the pressures and demands of the population, medical and scientific experts in Madagascar and around the world, the President continues to ignore that vaccination is an undeniable human right.
