MOGADISHU, Somalia –The Special Forces of the Somali National Army (SNA) killed more than 10 al-Shabab militants, including three commanders in the recent onslaught of terrorist group fighters.

The SNA-owned radio station reported Saturday night that the successful operation of the Special Forces (Dahab) was aimed at flushing out terrorists and disrupting their plans to terrorize the residents of the Lower Shabelle region.

Military radio said the sting operation was carried out in Bulo Haji village in the Janale area of ​​the Lower Shabelle region in the southern Horn of the African nation.

“SNA special forces (Danab) conducted an operation in Bulo Haji village in the Janale area of ​​the Lower Shabelle region and killed more than 10 al-Shabab members including three of al-Shabab leaders,” it said.

The latest operations come as government forces have intensified operations against al-Shabab in the central and southern regions, but the militants are still in control of the rural areas of these regions, leading ambushes and planting landmines.
