Salaam Somali Bank has provided free microfinance to small businesses in the country’s central city of Abudwak in the Galgadud region as part of the second phase Qardu Hassan, which aims to boost the economy.

On Sunday, the bank’s branch in the city offered free microfinance to small Somali traders, including women, with the aim of helping to expand their business amid the devastating Covid-19 pandemic.

On the occasion, the recipients of Salaam Somali Bank’s free microfinance said they were grateful to the bank for the valuable financing that will help make their business dreams come true.

For over ten years in public service, the bank has received praise for its promise to improve the lives of the Somali people through investments and free microfinance funds set up to help local retailers.

In addition, the privately owned bank based in Mogadishu also supports entrepreneurs by providing early stage and growth financing with active support to special young and female entrepreneurs.

Microfinance intends to help entrepreneurs with an inspiring vision to solve major problems and create commercial solutions in Somalia, a country that has been plagued by decades of conflict and famine.
