Galmudug Leader Shakes Up Cabinet with New Ministerial Appointments on the Eve of Regional Elections

Dhusamareb (AX) – President Ahmed Abdi Kariye Qor-Qor of Galmudug Regional State shook up his Council of Ministers on Wednesday, with the forthcoming regional leadership elections drawing nearer.

He tapped Abdiweli Abdullahi Jama for the role of Minister of Health and Social Welfare, while appointing Abdinur Mohamud Mohamed as the new Minister of Transport and Aviation, and Abdiwahab Sheikh Abukar Noor as the Minister of Youth and Sports.

Additionally, Abdirisaaq Mohamed Jama stepped into the position of Minister of State for Finance, and Abdulqadir Sheikh Hassan Ismail took the reins as Minister of State for Education.

The president urged his freshly appointed ministers to tackle their responsibilities with zeal. As the calendar edges toward the upcoming election, expected between December 2024 and January 2025, all eyes are on Galmudug.
