But in a quick response, Northeastern State dismissed the claims as “baseless” in a statement released by spokesman Jama Deperani, saying the minister was on a mission to taint the head of Somalia’s oldest state.

Gamal is a candidate for the Somali FG House of Representatives in the elections scheduled for August 10 to September 10 this year. Jamal, during his tenure as a cabinet member, was very close to outgoing President Farmaajo.
