Cameroon-Burkina Faso in opening, Algeria and Ivory Coast

The draw for the Africa Cup of Nations 2021 (postponed until 2022) took place on Tuesday 17 August at the Palais des Congrès in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The host country meets BurkinaFaso in the opening match on January 9. Title holder Algeria must challenge the Ivory Coast.

The 24 qualified selections are fixed. They know their opponents for CAN 2021 (postponed until 2022), as well full schedule.

GROUP A: Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Cape Verde.

GROUP B : Senegal, Zimbabwe, Guinea, Malawi.

GROUP C : Morocco, Ghana, Comoros, Gabon.

GROUP D : Nigeria, Egypt, Sudan, Guinea-Bissau.

GROUP E : Algeria, Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea, Ivory Coast.

GROUP F : Tunisia, Mali, Mauritania, Gambia.

To continue with this draw, the 24 elections were divided into four pots according to the latest FIFA ranking, which was established on 12 August. Thus, the host countries Cameroon, Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Nigeria could not appear in the same pool.

It is the stars of African football, the Cameroonians Samuel Eto’o and Gaëlle Eneganamouit, Ivorian Didier Drogba, Algerian Rabah Madjer and Ghanaian Asamoah Gyan who made this draw.

The competition will take place from January 9 to February 6, 2022 in four cities in Cameroon: Yaoundé, Douala, Garoua, Limbé, Bafoussam. The opening match will set Cameroon against Burkina Faso at the Stade d’Olembé in Yaoundé.
