Rwandans are poised to vote for Paul Kagame for a fourth term in the upcoming presidential election. With his leadership since ending the Tutsi genocide in 1994, Kagame portrays himself as a protector ensuring prosperity and peace for millions. Over the past 24 years, he has consistently won elections with over 93 percent of the vote. For most Rwandans under 30, Kagame is the only president they have ever known. However, critics view his rule, which allows only one opposition party, as dictatorial. While many young people strongly support the ruling party, some are seeking a change.
