In the square of the so-called Eboma Mpoko bus station, at the northern exit from Brazzaville, Guilain Madzou and one of his friends are waiting for the bus to return home. But the bus in question is late when just under 45 minutes separate them from the departure date; a curfew that they are now avoiding. It is for them a moment of anxiety.
“It is a situation that bothers us because we use holidays to visit families, just like holidays. We chose these days to limit the curfew to 20.00. I come from far away and have to run fast to get home. It bothers me, says Madzou.
The government’s restrictive measures aim to protect citizens. But these sometimes wonder. “It is only at night that we get the disease. However, it is during the day that we are in the markets and at night we limit ourselves, says Madzou.
The 34-year-old taxi driver Georges Nkou is annoyed that he stops working at sunset. “The work is really stuck on the weekends. We have been in this situation for a year and three months. We do not feel free. We have the impression that there is someone following us behind ”.
