Opposition leader Alexander Cummings has sharply criticized the government’s response to the $19 million drug investigation, describing the process as slow-moving and alleging that authorities are seeking to protect influential figures.
Speaking at a news conference in Monrovia, the Alternative National Congress leader asked, “… the biggest question remains: how does such a massive shipment enter Liberia without the knowledge of people in authority?” His concerns mirror those raised across the broader opposition, civil society and several lawmakers, who have called for an independent investigation.
