Egypt’s Defense Minister Engages in Dialogue on Regional Matters with Somali Counterpart

In a significant assembly on Thursday, Egypt’s Minister of Defense and Military Production Abdel Mageed Saqr met with Somalia’s Defense Minister Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur and his entourage during their expedition to Egypt. This encounter was captured by the Egyptian Armed Forces’ press team.

Saqr took the stage to deliberate on the regional and global dynamics that impact security within Africa. These weighty discussions with his Somali counterpart highlighted the intertwined destinies of both nations’ defense strategies.

The Egyptian military spokesperson noted Saqr’s admiration for the enduring bond between Egypt and Somalia, expressing pride in the collaborative ventures of their armed forces.

Manifesting his appreciation, Minister Nur conveyed his heartfelt thanks for Egypt’s unwavering support in bolstering the security and stability of African territories. “Egypt has been a steadfast ally in our journey towards peace,” he stated.

Nur acknowledged Egypt’s active role in the African Union Mission in Somalia, emphasizing the critical nature of the partnership in multiple defense realms. “Our cooperation spans across tactical and strategic exchanges,” he mentioned, underlining their mutual aspirations.

The meeting boasted the presence of notable figures, including Lieutenant-General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, along with commanders from the primary military factions and other high-ranking dignitaries.

The rendezvous not only fortified the camaraderie between Egypt and Somalia but also cemented the strategic outlook, fostering a fortified and secure African continent. As allies, both nations are maneuvering their defense portfolios to address emerging threats and reinforce their positions within the international arena.
