7 Daily Foods to Help Reduce Lower Body Fat Without Sacrificing Nutrition
Releasing weight while maintaining lean muscle is the ultimate goal for many, but it takes more than meeting the gym and having a consistent workout routine. What you eat every day plays an important role in how your body burns fat and maintains strength. To improve your general health and preserve muscles while lowering your body fat percentage, there are certain foods that should be added to your diet and nutrition expert and personal trainer Mary Sabat MS, RDN, LD reveals seven daily staples to start eating.
Egg

Eggs are quick and easy to manufacture and are packed with healthy fats. According to Sabat, “eggs are one of nature’s most perfect muscle food – rich in complete protein and essential amino acids that feed your muscles while helping you burn more calories through digestion.”
Wild caught salmon

Salmon contains a lot of protein and a versatile fish that can be enjoyed in so many delicious ways. It is also something that Sabat recommends to include in your diet regularly. “Wild Canged Salmon delivers a one-two body composition: Omega-3 fats help reduce inflammation and improve fat metabolism, while its high quality protein supports lean muscle retention,” she says.

Unsweetened Greek yogurt

Unsweetened Greek yogurt is a nutritional way to start the day and maintain muscle mass, according to Sabat. “Unsweetened Greek yogurt packs twice the protein from ordinary yogurt, making it ideal for muscle repair – and probiotics can help improve intestinal health, which is linked to better fat control.” she explains.
Leaf vegetables

Leafy Greens is perfect for a salad base or sautely with your favorite spices for a tasty side dish. In addition, they are really healthy. “Low calories and nutritional, leafy green green lets you fill your plate without filling the waist-plus their fiber slows down digestion, which helps you to keep you satisfied while preserving muscles under fat loss,” says Sabat.
Berries

Berries like blueberries, blackberries and raspberries are a delicious snack or yogurt topping, but they can also help in weight loss goals. “Berries satisfy a sweet suction with much fewer carbohydrates than other fruits, and their antioxidants help reduce inflammation that can slow down your fat burning progress,” per sabat.
Lean grassed beef

There are countless dishes you can do with lean grassy beef and it is a must to keep muscle while you lose body fat, according to Sabat. “Grassed beef provides creatine and iron for strong, active muscles and its healthy fat profile can actually help your body burn more fat over time,” she explains.
Chia seeds

Don’t let their small size fool you – chia seeds are nutrition. “Chia seeds are a small power plant of fiber, protein and omega-3 that keeps hunger in check, stabilizes blood sugar and supports lean muscle while burning fat,” says Sabat.
