a year after the coup, what happens to Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta?

as reported from Bamako, Serge Daniel
We could call him “the sage or hermit in Sébénikoro.” Sebénikoro is the district of Bamako where the lavish home of former President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta (IBK) is located. Conversely, a year ago, he has a new look: student glasses, even an intellectual, a small, well-trimmed white beard.

TV and reading his hobbies? He watches a lot of TV and reads. A well-known cultural man, for example, he recently read “White Thought” by former French football player Lilian Thuram. The man welcomes again. He listens a lot. Politics for him? It’s a page that is turned, for the time being at least.
He is very worried about the future of his country. “Very worried,” they add around him. Treason? One of his relatives quotes Voltaire: “My God, keep me from my friends, for my enemies, I will take care of them”. When IBK is not in Bamako as he is now, he is in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates for his medical care.
