Congo-B and Cameroon in the semifinals of the women’s CAN

Tunisia – Angola and Congo-Brazzaville – Cameroon will be posters for the semi-finals of the African Nations Women’s Handball Cup on 16 June 2021 in Yaoundé. The Congolese surprised the Senegalese 21-20 while the Cameroonians crushed the Nigerians 44-14. The semi-finalists have meanwhile won their qualifiers for the 2021 World Cup, which is scheduled for December in Spain.
We know the four representatives of Africa at the next Women’s World Handball Championship, which is scheduled for 2 to 19 December 2021 in Spain. These are Angola, Congo-Brazzaville, Tunisia and Cameroon.
These are the four semi-finalists in the Africa Cup of Nations 2021 held in Yaoundé from 8 to 18 June 2021. The posters scheduled for 16 June are Tunisia – Angola and Congo-Brazzaville – Cameroon.
The presence of Congo-Brazzaville in the last four of this CAN and at the 2021 World Cup is the biggest surprise, this election has hardly shone in the years 2010. The Congolese dismissed the Senegalese 21-20 at the end of a quarter of a panting final. Senegal had yet to reach the final in the previous edition.
A shock from Tunisia and Angola
However, there was no tension between the Cameroonians and the Nigerians. The lions pulverized the West African women 44-14.
The second semi-final of this CAN 2021 looks like a final ahead of its time. The Angolans have won 13 of the 23 previous editions. And they have lost their title only once since 1998. That was in 2014 against the Tunisians.
Tunisians who had to work to remove the Guineans (27-20), in the quarterfinals. As for the Angolans, they controlled their meeting against DR Congo (29-20).
