what about the negotiations to organize
We still do not know the date of Laurent Gbagbo and Charles Blé Goudé. Following their final acquittal at the ICC, the two men now want to return to their country. For the former head of state, the conditions for return become clearer. He will benefit from the benefits associated with his status as former president and negotiations are ongoing between his camp and the Ivorian authorities. But what about his former minister Charles Blé Goudé?
as reported from Abidjan, Sidy Yansane
If Laurent Gbagbo came into possession of two passports, Charles Blé Goudé has been waiting in The Hague for the issuance of his travel document for several weeks.
Negotiations between the Gbagbo camp and the Ivorian leader to prepare for the return of the former head of state officially in progress, but nothing was filtered regarding the former Minister for Youth.
Dr Patrice Saraka, Secretary General of Cojep, Blé Goudé’s party, told RFI that he is coordinating a contact group to organize his arrival, and who has already spoken to the authorities, without specifying whether he is “was the new Prime Minister Patrick Achi, Kouadio Konan Bertin, Minister of Reconciliation and long-standing acquaintance with the man who was nicknamed “the general of the street”.
Like Gbagbo, Blé Goudé was sentenced to 20 years in prison by the Ivorian courts. But Cojep has high hopes for forgiveness or amnesty, as President Alassane Ouattara publicly stated that the two men were free to return whenever they want.
Political scientist Sylvain N’Guessan also confirms that the camp of the former youth minister has already contacted the government and is negotiating in the shadows, leaving the light to Blé Goudé himself, who has multiplied the foot appeals against the presidency, and even asked for forgiveness from the Ivorians, shortly after his acquittal.
