Christian Pulisic injury news – Chelsea star feels healthy

Chelsea Pulveric winger has admitted that 2020/21 has been a challenging season for him due to injuries and other setbacks affecting his playing time, but insists he feels healthy and strong after scoring in consecutive games for for the first time in almost a year.

Pulisic struck a brace in Chelsea’s 4-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, having previously made the opening in the shock collapse against West Brom the week before. It was June 2020 and ‘Project Restart’ the last time that happened.

Top manager Gary Neville predicted even during the summer that the American was on his way to becoming the Premier League’s next international star due to how he finished last season, but Pulisic has been limited to only 12 league starts over Chelsea’s 31 games so far.

The 22-year-old hopes that he has now put his fitness problems behind him.

“I do my best to take care of myself. I have to take care of my body and be strong and healthy in all matches, says Pulisic to Chelsea’s official website.

“It has not been an easy season, it has been a lot to come in and come out and hurt, but I feel healthy and strong right now.”

After West Brom’s defeat, the victory over Palace was crucial for Chelsea to keep the four best chances alive. With seven games left, the Blues are just one point behind West Ham in fourth place, while a suddenly battling Leicester are just one point ahead in third.

But Chelsea also have tough competition from an improved Liverpool side who have now won three in a row, with the Reds only three points behind fourth place themselves.

After being beaten at Arsenal last season’s final, Chelsea are also still in the FA Cup and face Manchester City in the semi – final at Wembley on Saturday 17 April.
