Sergio Ramos doubtful for Clasico and Liverpool Champions League matches with muscle injury
Real Madrid have confirmed that defender Sergio Ramos will enchant on the side after suffering a muscle injury while on international duty with Spain.
Ramos was used sparingly during Spain’s three matches. He was taken off at half-time during the first game, and after being an unused substitute for the second, he managed just four minutes off the bench in the third and final game.

They seem to be the last minutes that Ramos will see for a while when Real confirmed on their official website that the 35-year-old has picked up a muscle injury that forces him into a period on the side.
As always, Real do not set a time frame for Ramo’s recovery, but as Lucas Navarette, Jose Luiz Sanchez and Arancha Rodriguez all agree, the midfielder faces a month on the sidelines.
Such a dismissal would mean that Ramos, who has only managed to play four matches for Real 2021, would miss El Clasico against Barcelona on April 10 and both Champions League quarter-finals against Liverpool.
“The truth is, I’ve had pretty tough weeks,” Ramos wrote on Instagram. “An operation is always tough from a sporting and emotional point of view. Fortunately, for a few days I have felt better, but in football as in life, bad luck also plays a role.
“Yesterday, after the match, I trained on the pitch and I noticed a pain in my left calf. Today I have been tested and it has been confirmed that I have a muscle injury.
“If there is something that hurts me, it is not to be able to help the team in these very demanding matches where we play the season, nor to be able to return the love and energy that you transfer to me on the pitch. I can do nothing but to speak honestly, work hard and cheer on the team with my soul. “
Ramos had just returned from a knee injury and handled 61 minutes against Elche before a knock excludes him from Real’s last match before the international.
In the middle of all the fights, there is the small question of Ramo’s contract to sort out. Real are reluctant to make a long-term commitment to the defender while he remains injured, and given that Ramos does not seem to be staying healthy, the talks seem to be taking a little longer.
