MOGADISHU — Sheikh Aadan Mohamed Nur (Aadan Madoobe), the newly elected President of South West State, arrived in Mogadishu today on his first trip since his election to lead the regional administration.
The delegation was received at Aden Adde International Airport by a range of federal officials. Those present at the reception included members of both houses of the Federal Parliament and senior government figures, led by the Second Deputy Speaker of the House of the People, according to a delegation statement provided to Axadle Times.

Speaking at the airport, Sheikh Aadan thanked the federal officials, parliamentarians and members of the public for the reception extended to him and his delegation. He also praised the electoral process that produced his administration, describing it as having been conducted “in a peaceful atmosphere with transparency and unity,” language his office said reflected the will of the people and state institutions.
President Aadan Madoobe outlined the South West administration’s immediate priorities, saying his government will give special attention to strengthening security, improving public services, and accelerating ongoing state-building efforts.
He further stressed the importance of close cooperation between the Federal Government of Somalia and the South West administration as a means to achieve sustainable development and political stability across the country.
