ATMIS Police Enhance Public Security in Dhobley with Collaborative Training Between Law Enforcement and the Community
Dhobley, Somalia – Imagine a bustling town where public safety strides forward through the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS). This initiative in Dhobley is not just about training but setting a groundbreaking precedent for how law enforcement huddles with community stalwarts to tackle crime.
In the initiative’s latest chapter, 36 individuals, composed of a dozen Somali Police Force officers and 24 community figureheads, were schooled in essential public safety know-how – from station management to extinguishing human trafficking dilemmas and future crimes.
Brigadier Seif Salim Rashid, the big cheese of ATMIS Sector Two, articulated – this isn’t just training; it’s the metamorphosis of how safety dances in Dhobley. By synchronizing cops with community champions, a robust security tapestry weaves itself sturdy.
“This is monumental,” voiced Brig. Rashid at the ceremonious wrap-up, “I’m optimistic that your performance bar will shoot up, your duty execution smoother, which trickles goodness to the societal fabric you serve.”
Highlighting collaboration’s role in levelling up Somalia’s law enforcement, Dhobley’s District Commissioner, Hassan Abdi Hashi, stressed, “Our collective effort is the catalyst for a resilient and secure community.”
Hashi exclaimed, “Only together, weaving insights from our learnings, can we spark off waves of positive transformation.” His enthusiasm echoed the goal of empowering communities through united efforts.
Instructors, handpicked from ATMIS’ Police Training and Development flock, emphasized, “This program isn’t just learning – it’s reshaping bonds between the uniformed guards and the hearts they protect.”
ATMIS Police facilitator SSP Alex Magaize elaborated, “You now wield enhanced skills not just in probing and prosecuting human exploitation but in building trust and polishing police station operations.”
Adding to the chorus, ASP Memuna Samurah affirmed, “Our mission is firm on fortifying Somali police prowess, precisely aligned with our mandate.”
Omar Abdi, an SPF officer, shared his two cents, firmly standing, “This wisdom exchange arms us against crime, strengthens our bond with leaders, and fortifies the security promise we made together.”
