During the Communication, he delivered to political actors and members of civil society, General Mahamat Idriss Déby announced that he had decided to entrust the appointment of the members of the Transitional National Council to a committee chaired by its Vice-President, General Djimadoum Tiraïna.

The Committee will be open to all sensitivities and will ensure the selection of candidates on the basis of objective criteria for a provisional parliamentary representative of all the country’s forces. According to good sources, the committee in question will be set up fairly quickly and within a month the transitional parliament should be installed.

Willingness to surrender

The President of the Military Transitional Council also insisted that he was willing to surrender at the end of the transition and respond to part of the national opinion that suspects him of maneuvering to stay longer with the head of state.
