After making his name in the Derby County championship, Jayden Bogle finally made his move to the Premier League during the summer transfer window of 2020, where Sheffield United intercepted the talented kid.

However, the move has not been exactly planned, as Blades is literally one of the worst teams in the league’s history, but in just 20 years, Bogle has plenty of time to develop and get into Southgate’s plans.

James Justin is versatile enough to play at right-back and left-back and got his chance in the Premier League towards the end of last season and started every game with ‘Project Restart’.

22-year-old Justin started the new campaign by registering an assist in Leicester’s opening day to win over newly promoted West Brom and impressed until an unfortunate injury excludes him for the rest of the season and Euro.

Still one to keep an eye on for the next few years.

Despite being moved to Norwich, 20-year-old Max Aarons has a whole season of Premier League experience to his name and impressed during an otherwise difficult campaign for the Canary Islands.

Before that, he had played almost every game when Norwich was promoted, and with his club on the road to advertising again, you can expect to see him lace up his boots in the top division very soon.

Tariq Lamptey played on himself by moving from the boys’ club Chelsea at the age of 18 in January, but it paid off because the youngster has flourished since he started in Brighton.

Lamptey, who is still only 20, burst onto the scene last season as an unhappy, exciting right-back, but his second-year campaign has been full of injuries.

Kieran Trippier has some of the best ball deliveries and death for all active English players and enjoyed the last World Cup as England’s leading right back.

His transfer to Atletico Madrid last summer was surprising, but it takes a strong character with drive to be a regular start in a Diego Simeone team and he has succeeded.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is considered by many to be the best one-on-one defender in the Premier League, his long legs can somehow secure the ball from almost anyone.

With just 46 senior appearances to his name at a £ 45million move to Manchester United last summer, his rise has been quite meteoric, while his attacking play is also evolving.

Despite a brief absence from the England squad for a while back and the only player on the list on the wrong side of 30, it is still impossible to see beyond Kyle Walker as a leading right-back.

Walker has been a key player for one of the best club sides English football has ever seen in the last three years and has the versatility to play as a full-back in back-three if needed as well.

Reece James has become a favorite among Southgates recently – and with good reason.

The Chelsea defender has come forward this season and due to his defensive skill he can be a better alternative than TAA in a back four …

Trent Alexander-Arnold is without a doubt the best right-back in the world Pool / Getty Images

Although this is not Gareth Southgate’s first choice at the moment, there is no denying that Trent Alexander-Arnold is the best right-back England has at his disposal.

Defensively, Alexander-Arnold still has a lot to learn and room to improve, but he sets up incredible attack numbers. He could be sensational for England as a wing-back flanking a full-back three.
