Six UK men charged with more than 60 sexual offenses against one woman
LONDON — Six British men have been charged with more than 60 sexual offenses against a single woman over a 13-year period, UK prosecutors said, in a case Wiltshire Police described as a “complex and extensive” investigation.
The Crown Prosecution Service said Philip Young, 49, faces 56 charges, including multiple counts of rape, administering a substance with intent to stupefy or overpower to allow sexual activity, and voyeurism. He is also charged with possession of indecent images of children and other extreme images.

Young has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, prosecutors said.
The complainant, Joanne Young, 48, who is the defendant’s former wife, has waived her legal right to anonymity ahead of court proceedings, according to the CPS. Prosecutors said the alleged offenses took place between 2010 and 2023.
“This is a significant update in what is a complex and extensive investigation,” Detective Superintendent Geoff Smith of Wiltshire Police said in a statement.
Authorities did not immediately provide further details about the five other men charged. The CPS said more than 60 alleged offenses relate to the same woman over the 13-year span.
Under British law, complainants in sexual offense cases are granted lifetime anonymity. The CPS noted that Joanne Young had chosen to formally waive that protection before the case proceeds in court.
The charges against Philip Young include the allegation of administering a substance with intent to facilitate sexual activity—an offense that concerns incapacitating a victim to commit or enable sexual assault—as well as voyeurism. Prosecutors also cited counts involving indecent images of children and extreme images, which carry separate criminal penalties under UK law governing illegal content.
As with all criminal cases, the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court. No trial date has been set.
The case will be heard initially in Swindon, the county town where Wiltshire Police is based, before any charges potentially move to a higher court depending on legal proceedings.
