And the five-time winners of the World Cup have produced another teenage sensation set up by Europe’s biggest clubs. The newest world-beating star initially goes by the name Kayky.

The 17-year-old has been officially picked up by Manchester City for a fee that reports could rise to £ 21.5 million and could be in England after he turned 18 on June 11 this summer.

But who is he? Here’s what you need to know about Kayky …

In addition to representing Brazil at the under-16 level, Kayky has played for Fluminense’s famous youth teams and followed in the footsteps of players such as Marcelo and Fabinho.

Although the club has previously had so many talented football players come up through its ranks, the current harvest is called “Dream Generation”, of which Kayky is the shining light.

Lots of praise.

The 17-year-old has managed to get titles during his time with the Fluminense Academy Act.

But the most impressive thing was helping the U17s secure the Brazilian title last season – a testament to the quality of Fluminense’s current young stars.

The 17-year-old is blessed with fantastic skill, a fantastic touch, pace and the ability to drive directly against his opposition.

He plays on the right side for Fluminense, but his ability to move elegantly up the pitch with emotion and find teammates or take a goal himself has drawn comparisons with Neymar.

As you can see above, the 17-year-old has tricks and natural ability in abundance.

What is more impressive than his ability to play is his ability to find the back of the net.

Kayky finished as the Brazilian top flight’s 17-year-old top scorer last campaign and hit 12 goals from the right wing to secure the title.

His intelligence and awareness of the game allow him to find space and scoring opportunities near the goal, but he can also score the kind of goal that gets you out of your place and send Latin American commentators in exaggeration – as we see above.

Speaking to Goal, Kayky’s coach Guilherme Torres said: “He has a winning, competitive mentality, which is important for a high level player. His resilience has increased as he matures and he learns to deal with adversity.”

There is no doubt that a player with a strong, winning mindset belongs to a side like Manchester City but his resilience will be crucial if he succeeds at the club and adapts to English football.

And all indications are that he can.

At just eight years old, Kayky was rejected by his current club after a trial.

But with the support of his father, the Brazilian continued to join the team at Mangueira Samba School.

But Kayky was eventually brought into the Fluminense set when scouts bumped into him once again in a game that Mangueira actually lost. However, Kayky was so good that he was immediately enrolled in the club’s academy system – better late than never.

The 17-year-old would not be where he is now without the support and motivation his father gave him after the original refusal.

As a tribute, every goal that Kayky makes to put her fingers on her upper lip to recreate her father’s mustache is celebrated – as you can see above.

There are many pretend mustaches.
