Thorup Assumes Management at Norwich Following Wagner’s Departure

Norwich City has chosen Johannes Hoff Thorup as their new head coach on a three-year agreement.
Thorup replaces David Wagner, who was dismissed after Norwich’s 4-0 loss to Leeds United in the Championship playoffs.
Coming from Nordsjaelland, Thorup moved there in January 2023 after being upgraded from assistant coach.
He steered them to a second-place rank in the Danish Superliga, qualifying for the Europa Conference League.
During his inaugural full term, Thorup led them to the European competition group stage before securing fourth place domestically.
Thorup expressed enthusiasm for being with the club, wishing that fans share the excitement.
He claimed a connection to the people, the club, and the city, emphasizing mutual collaboration.
Thorup outlined his approach to play while remaining open to existing best practices.
The Canaries placed sixth last season and are gearing up for their third straight Championship run under Thorup.
