Real Sociedad confirms new 5-year agreement
Sweden and Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak has signed an extension of his contract with the Basque club and will take his deal until 2026.
The 21-year-old has impressed with his domestic form the past two seasons and further fell in love with potential suitors with a promising show in Euro 2020 with Sweden.

Many of Europe’s top clubs have been linked with the striker, including Liverpool, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona. However, such clubs’ hopes of signing the player at any time have soon been dashed, with Real Sociedad announcing an extended contract.

A club statement reads: “Real Sociedad and Alexander Isak have agreed to extend the player’s contract, which binds him to the club until June 30, 2026.
“This afternoon, the player extended his contract in Stockholm. The event was attended by President Jokin Aperribay, football director Roberto Olabe and the player himself.”
It is not believed that Isak’s release clause, which is reported to be around £ 60 million, was increased in the negotiations. However, it is worth mentioning that Borussia Dortmund – from which Real Sociedad signed the player – had a repurchase option of 35 million euros that was previously bought out of Liga-outfit.
The club’s announcement comes after Isak’s Euro 2020 trip was shortened after an extra time loss for Ukraine in the round of 16. However, the 21-year-old was largely impressed, played in all four of Sweden’s matches and registered two assists.
Alexander Isak hype is justified.

However, his praise has mostly come for his domestic form. Isak, a star in the 90 min Our 21 series, was named La Liga’s young player of the season for the 2020/21 campaign after scoring 17 goals in 34 league games for Real Sociedad. And according to the 21-year-old, he is looking forward to the future with the Basque club.
“I am very happy to continue at la Real. It is a fantastic club, I feel loved here and hope to enjoy things with this team for many more years,” said Isak.
