Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s son weighs in on Jose Mourinho spitting

Ladies and gentlemen, you can stop worrying. Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s son Noah has broken his silence and confirmed that his father has never deprived him of dinner.

If you’ve been out of sight for the past few days, let’s contextualize this massive development.

Sunshine on Son: “If my son stays like this for 3 minutes and needs ten friends to help him up, he will not get any food.” [@footballdaily]

The story began halfway through Manchester United’s meeting with Tottenham on Sunday. United thought they had taken the lead in the first half just to exclude Edinson Cavani’s goal after Son through himself to the ground after minimal face contact from Scott McTominay.

Although the Red Devils would continue to win the match 3-1, Solskjaer was still with the South Korean under his post-match press pressure, saying: “I have to say, if my son stays down for three minutes and he needs his ten friends to help him up “He will not get food. We were not fooled, the judge was.”

Unbelievably, this is not the first time Solskjaer has floated the prospect of starving his offspring after a game. In the reverse match against Spurs in October, he claimed that his son would live on “bread and water” for two weeks – a strangely specific period of time – if he had gone down as Erik Lamela had to have Anthony Martial expelled.

All this talk of draconian punishment had made us worried about Ole’s two sons. Thankfully, Noah Solskjaer – a midfielder who is currently investing in his trade for the Norwegian side Kristiansund – has helped to calm us down.

“I always get food, I can assure you of that,” the 20-year-old told the newspaper Tidens Krav (via Guardian) recently, also revealing that his teammates asked if he had eaten breakfast the morning after his father’s comments.

“I never put myself in the way Son did. Mourinho probably just wanted to take the focus away from the fact that they lost.”
