Man Utd, PSG and Sevilla enter the competition for Sergio Ramos

Sergio Ramos has become a target for Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla after it was confirmed that he would not extend his contract with Real Madrid.

The Spaniard said an emotional goodbye to Madrid on Tuesday after the club announced that he would not impose new conditions on the Santiago Bernabeu, which then ended a famous 16-year stay in the capital.

Ramos won five La Liga titles, two Copa del Reys and four Champions League crowns during his time with Los Blancos, but he is now looking for a new home despite claiming he never wanted to leave Real Madrid and that they withdrew returned his offer of a one-year contract when he tried to accept it.

Speculation about where Ramos may be heading has been non-stop since his departure was confirmed, and RMC (via Get French Football News) reports that United, PSG and Sevilla are all interested in securing his signature.

While the aforementioned clubs have all received an interest, the reports also add that PSG have already refused to meet Ramos’ squeezed salary demands with the Spanish international, who is said to be asking for 12 million euros a year (10.3 million pounds).

Les Parisiens is also said to be convinced of Ramos’ training levels, which is not a complete surprise given that he has only played once for Real in the last three months and even then he took a knock in their Champions League match with Chelsea.

Given the squeezed salaries that Ramos demanded along with the fact that he is well into the twilight of his career and suffered a number of injuries last season, it is hard to see either United or Sevilla bowing to their demands.

With that said, Ole Gunnar Solskjär is desperate to strengthen his defensive alternatives this summer and so that it can work to Ramos’ advantage if the two parties start negotiations.
