Jurgen Klopp & Gary Neville collide over You’re Never Walk Alone comments

Since the announcement of the Super League, Sky Sports speculator Gary Neville has taken on a role of voiceless voice.

He has launched several passionate speeches to condemn the parties involved, including his beloved Manchester United and rivals Liverpool. On the latter, he questioned how the club could continue to stick to their motto for Youll Never Walk Alone while ignoring their entire fans.

It’s a point that most fans agreed with, but Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was not exactly happy with everything.

“Gary Neville is talking about ‘You will never go alone’, which at least should already be banned, to be honest,” the Liverpool boss told Sky Sports (via talkSPORT). “We have many rights to sing that hymn; it’s our anthem, not his anthem, he really does not understand it anyway.

“I wish Gary Neville would be in a hotseat somewhere and not everywhere where most money is; he was at Man Utd and then Sky where most money is.

“So do not forget that we have nothing to do with this. We are in the same situation as you, we have the information and we still have to play football. ”

Neville immediately got the chance to respond to Klopp’s comments and questioned why the German was so focused on him when there are obviously bigger issues to deal with.

Why is it not fair? I mean, I’ve handed out enough insults to Liverpool over the years, “Neville explained. “Yesterday there was nothing to do with insulting Liverpool. I do not know why I live in his head, to be honest with you.

“I do not know what nailed him. Yesterday [Sunday] was a passionate appeal from me about football and the protection of football in this country and my biggest disappointment over Liverpool and Manchester United. I think I’ve distributed enough criticism to both clubs over the last 24 hours, so I do not know what his problem is.

“I had a 25-year career at Manchester United, I had an 11-year career at Sky and I worked hard for it. I have not received it, I have not gone where most money is. I had no choice; Sir Alex Ferguson did not say, “Gary, do you want to stay here?” every year.

“So I do not know what he is doing. I employ 600 people in a city, tried to take care of them in a pandemic, is not it hot enough for him?

“He has done a good job in Liverpool, I have no problems with Jurgen Klopp and I loved his team. But the fact is, he’s prickly. He has been let down by his owners, his owner has thrown him under the bus. We are on the same page. But the fact is, he can not say what he wants to say and I can, and I accept that.

“The Jurgen Klopp we know, he hates every little thing about this – more than I do – because it goes against everything in his life that he has believed in and he has been let down. He has been disappointed by his owners and so have the players in Liverpool. ”
