Inter salvages a draw against Verona with Arnautovic’s brace: A hard-earned point for the Serie A champions

Marko Arnautovic kicked off the scoring early in the game and then added another goal just before halftime to ensure Inter ended their season with a draw. Champions Inter wrapped up their Serie A campaign with a 2-2 tie against Verona, thanks to Arnautovic’s two goals.

The Austrian found the back of the net ten minutes into the match with a skillful strike. However, Tijjani Noslin responded six minutes later to level the score. Noslin then assisted Tomas Suslov for Verona’s second goal, but Arnautovic equalized for Inter just before halftime.

Simone Perilli’s outstanding saves for Verona kept the game tied until the end. Simone Inzaghi, the Inter coach, reached a milestone of 250 points in Serie A, a feat previously achieved only by Roberto Mancini with the Nerazzurri during the three-points-per-win era. In 77 wins, 19 draws, and 18 losses, Inzaghi achieved this landmark.

Inzaghi guided Inter to 94 points in Serie A after securing the Scudetto with five games remaining. Only three teams have earned more points in a single Serie A season during the three-points-per-win era: Inter in 2006-07 (97) and Juventus in 2013-14 (102) and 2017-18 (95).
