Celtic & Rangers meet in the Scottish Cup 4th round

The fourth round of the Scottish Cup looks to offer some fireworks at a meeting between Celtic and Rangers.

Steven Gerrard’s league champions still need to navigate their third round with League One’s Cove Rangers on Sunday, but given that they have only lost twice in all competitions this season, they are clear favorites for that game.

The draws for the fourth and fifth rounds of the Scottish Cup 2020-21 took place at Hampden today.

If they come through as expected, they will have to hang out for a visit from defending champions Celtic during the weekend of April 17, where the Old Firm derby is the clear result from the fourth round.

It is Rangers who have had better than Celtic this season. A 2-0 victory in October was followed by a 1-0 victory in January, but John Kennedy’s men ended their defeat with a respectable 1-1 draw just before the last international break.

Aberdeen vs Livingston

Forfar Athletic vs Dundee United

Kilmarnock vs Montrose

Motherwell vs. Greenock Morton

Rangers / Cove Rangers vs Celtic

St. Johnstone vs Clyde

St. Mirren vs Inverness Caledonian Thistle

Stranraer vs Södra drottningen / Hibernian

The rest of the fourth draw does not exactly make your mouth water, but if we look at the draw in the fifth round, a potential meeting between New Firm rivals Aberdeen and Dundee United could steal the show.

For that match to happen, Aberdeen must get through Livingston, while Dundee United must come out on top in their journey to Forfar Athletic.

Rangers / Cove Rangers / Celtic vs St. Johnstone / Clyde
