ATK Mohun Bagan transmits news: Deepak Tangri signs
Indian Super League side ATK Mohun Bagan has continued to increase his squad depth this summer with the signing of the versatile kid Deepak Tangri on a free transfer.
Mostly a defensive midfielder, Tangri has also proven to be worthy as a midfielder on several occasions for his former teams.
As reported by the Indian Super League official website, 22-year-old Tangri has signed for last season’s ISL finalists on a two-year deal.
This comes after an impressive 2020/21 campaign with Chennaiyin FC, where he played in 17 matches throughout the season.
Tangri began his journey with Mohun Bagan AC as a teenager before signing for Indian Arrows 2017. He became an integral part of Arrows’ side with some impressive performances.
Deepak then joined Chennaiyin FC before the 2018/19 season but was immediately sent back on loan to Arrows so he could continue his growth.

After an impressive season, Tangri was recalled by Chennaiyin and was part of their 2019/20 squad for the ISL. Later that season, he continued with his debut for the famous South Indian club.
In the 2020/21 season, Tangri looked like a more mature player. Height level on the pitch, he expressed himself well in the 22 matches that he presented throughout Chennaiyin FC’s campaign.
Now Tangri begins a new journey with one of the most successful ISL pages in the history of ATK Mohun Bagan and it feels like this is the starting plate he needed to take his career to the next level.
