Arsenal are aiming for 5 big signings with a big transfer budget
Arsenal hope to be able to use their big summer budget to score up to five big goals before the transfer window closes.
90 Minutes revealed earlier this month that Arsenal are willing to spend up to £ 250m on a handful of new players this summer, with the transfer budget largely funded by the club but also replenished by some winger leaving.
A new goalkeeper, central defender, full-back and two midfielders are all on Mikel Arteta’s wish list this summer, and Arsenal’s hierarchy is ready to bite the bullet and spend big after seeing their team fall in the Premier League last year.
Athletic adds that Arsenal hope to use their big budget on five big signings, and club officials are throwing their scouting net far to try to find the best options for the squad.
The report names well-known goals such as Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga and Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, while there is also confirmation that Arsenal are close to hiring Brighton defender Ben White for a first £ 45 million.
Arsenal seem to have their primary goals in these positions, but two areas where the Gunners are still looking are at left-back and right-back.

On the left, the plan is to find someone to replace Kieran Tierney, who recently signed a new five-year contract and is set to be a potential future captain. Benfica star Nuno Tavares was recently named as an alternative, while Arsenal are also said to be considering Real Madrid’s 19-year-old Miguel Gutierrez.
Gutierrez, who comes with a £ 35m release clause and a huge hype around him at the Bernabeu, may be tempted to leave this summer due to Real’s determination to keep Marcelo in contention for Ferland Mendy. The young could be third in the breeding order and could be sold as a result.
Over to the right, Sassuolo Mert Muldur is a new name on the radar, and his ability to play as a left-back is also thought to work to his advantage.

There seem to be many players who could make expensive moves to the Emirates this summer, but one player who is believed to have already been ruled out is Leicester playmaker James Maddison.
Arsenal are big fans of the 24-year-old but fear that he could become far too expensive, even on a summer that can contain such large expenses. Instead, 90 minutes understand that the Gunners keep a close eye on Lille Renato Sanches.
