Abraham asks for a price to be lowered
Chelsea are preparing to lower their valuation of Tammy Abraham with potential suitors Arsenal, West Ham and Aston Villa who have all been deterred by the current price of £ 40 million.
The Blues try to raise funds as they continue to push Erling Haaland. 90min revealed earlier this month that Roman Abramovich is willing to splash as much as £ 150 million on the forward, despite Dortmund insisting he is not for sale this summer.
Chelsea have been actively looking to download some of their French players in an attempt to increase their transfer fee, with respective sales of midfield duo Fikayo Tomori and Marc Guehi already generating significant fees.
But the troop trimming has not been completed yet, with Abraham also considered surplus to the requirements of Stamford Bridge and then available for sale.
The English international has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, West Ham and Aston Villa. But without any of the aforementioned sides willing to share the £ 40 million Chelsea quoted for them, The Sun reports that the Blues are preparing to lower their asking price.
The report adds that the club in west London are willing to lower their valuation by at least £ 5 million when they try to entice someone to take Abraham out of their hands. The fee will probably still be too steep for Hammers boss David Moyes, who had hoped to secure the forward’s services for 30 million pounds.
The Scots are also keen to strengthen their defensive arsenal this summer, with 90 minutes revealing that Shakhtar Donetsk’s Mykola Matviyenko and Valencia’s Mouctar Diakhaby are both on the club’s radar.
Abraham is not the only Chelsea player to be overseen by the Hammers this summer, with Kurt Zouma also obviously of interest.
90 minutes recently revealed that the Frenchman is eager to stay in London if he were to be shipped out of Stamford Bridge – a scenario that looks increasingly likely given Thomas Tuchel’s hunt for Sevilla’s midfielder Jules Kounde – and that the news is a big boost for Hammers .
As Zouma will cost around £ 20 million, it is unlikely that West Ham can afford both him and Abraham – which means Chelsea may have to wait and see who they choose to prioritize.
