UNTM withdrew on Tuesday night from the talks that began with the government, following statements by President Bah N’Daw, which were considered insulting. The union finally returned to the negotiating table on Friday.

Negotiations resumed on Friday morning, even before the end of the strike. The National Union of Workers of Mali (UNTM) withdrew from talks to protest interim president, Bah N’Daw, had likened the strikers to “mentally ill people“But its president, Yacouba Katilé, says today that he wants to show responsibility:

“For the good of the nation, we must agree to return to the negotiating table again. The government has shown itself willing to come back. We’re not here to do anything, forgive me the expression. It is about working and coming to conclusions for our activists. ”
