Human Rights Watch Urges Ghana to Uphold Equality Amid LGBT Bill Revival

Human Rights Watch is calling upon Ghanaian leaders to uphold international legal protections that ensure equality, non-discrimination, freedom of expression, and privacy for all citizens. The reintroduced bill carries severe implications, with proposed penalties of up to three years in prison simply for identifying as LGBT. Such harsh measures not only threaten the safety and dignity of individuals but also directly contravene international human rights standards.
