In neighborhoods favorable to the opposition, supporters of the UFDG took to the streets in large numbers. The gendarmes are deployed at the main intersection and the situation is tense in places where there is smoke rising into the sky near the Hamdallaye roundabout.

Moments earlier, the president of the UFDG, opponent Cellou Dalein Diallo, announced that his own count gave the winner of the presidential election.

Ceni “regrets” Diallo’s statement

No official result has been announced yet. Ceni says it “regrets” the opponent’s statements and continues to centralize the results, according to its spokesman Mamadi 3 Kaba. It will publish the preliminary results within 72 hours of receiving the final minutes.

Ceni remains the only institution that proclaims preliminary results.
