The Muslim cemetery, near the Sidi Embarek Mosque in Ceuta, has had two more graves on which figures are displayed since Sunday. They are currently anonymous, as the identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed.

The body of the first body was found on Thursday, May 20, near the beach of El Tarajal, on the border with Morocco. The other fell several meters at the commercial port of Ceuta, near which gather groups of migrants hoping to reach the European continent.

Filmed ceremony for families

Toilets, prayer, funeral … the ceremony takes place in respect of Muslim traditions in the presence of only a few people, touched by the fate of these two anonymous. There are also two imams, funeral directors. The president of the NGO Alas Protectoras is also present and films to let the families of the deceased, once formally identified, see how the funeral of their loved ones took place. This step is important for these families, according to him.

Under the mosque, some migrants pass with a bag of food in hand. They have been sleeping in the streets, in this area, since they arrived in the Spanish enclave early last week.
