New research assesses effects of mobile money service on small and medium-sized businesses in Somalia

To disseminate the newly discovered knowledge among researchers and the public, the Research and Development Center of SIMAD University organized a forum for disseminating research results at the Primo Palace. Ustad Abdinor Ali Mohamed, Principal Researcher and Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics, presented the findings of a study entitled “Assessing the Effects of the Mobile Money Service on Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises: A Case Study on EVC- More Services in Somalia ”.

Ing. Mohamed Mohamud Mohamed, Academic Vice-Rector, officially opened the forum and welcomed all participants. Ing. Mohamed stressed the importance of research in academics and the development of a country. He also pointed out that SIMAD University aims to create knowledge and nurture a research culture in Somalia. And this presentation of the research results is only a reflection of it.

Speaking at the opening of the forum, Ustad Abdisalam Yusuf Abdi, Director of the Research Center, opened the event and welcomed the participants. The director said the center has always been committed to fostering a research culture in Somalia, especially research aimed at improving the services and quality of local businesses. He greatly appreciated the efforts of SIMAD researchers to promote local research.

After the opening remarks, Ustad Abdinor Ali Mohamed started his presentation and shared his research results with the participants. Ustad Abdinor discussed mobile money services and their impact on small and medium businesses and their overall impact on the community. He also discussed the importance of the study and its implications. After the presentation, participants had the opportunity to ask several questions about the study and beyond.

Finally, the dissemination of newly discovered knowledge among the public is a new trend here in Somalia. And today’s research forum looked very different because it was attracting more audiences.
