We still do not know the name of the future president of the Independent National Electoral Commission (Céni). Religious communities are always divided about the choice. Six religious groups are united behind the candidacy of Denis Kadima for which they have submitted a file to the National Assembly office. But Catholics and Protestants who oppose this candidacy hope to be received by President Felix Tshisekedi.
as reported from Kinshasa, Patient Ligodi
It has been a week since Catholics and Protestants officially took the head of state. they ask to be received emergency. But they still have no answer.
They oppose the candidacy Denis kadima which they consider too close to power. In the office of the head of state, it is explained that the file is on the table. “The president is an open man, understands a member of the cabinet, but there is a problem with the agenda.”
Félix Tshisekedi has a busy schedule. This Tuesday, August 24, he will travel to Zambia for President Hakainde Hichilema to swear in, and then to Lubumbashi for the funeral of former Haut-Katanga Provincial Assembly President Gabriel Kyungu, before flying to Germany and Italy. “If he insists – despite this program – on receiving them, he will have to shake up his agenda,” adds one of his relatives.
In the meantime, the Joint Commission, which is responsible for proposing candidates for the various positions of CENI, continues its work.
Its members, who mainly belong to the ruling majority, intend to submit their report by the end of the week … with only one candidate for the Ceni presidency, Denis Kadimas.
