The president of the DRC National Assembly, Jeanine Mabunda, was fired

Deputies voted on Thursday, December 10, for the petition aimed at his dismissal. This new stage in the arm wrestling between Felix Tshisekedi and his predecessor yesterday, still an ally in favor of the current president.

as reported from Kinshasa, Patient Ligodi

The supporters of Joseph Kabila played and lost, they were more on Thursday 10 December than during the plenary session on Tuesday.

After criticizing the way in which the provisional office was set up, after having hesitated for a long time the day before, they decided to fight this battle ballot boxes that ultimately proved fatal to them. They hoped that with this vote they could show that the majority of Parliament was still in their hands.

Jeanine Mabunda made the trip to the People’s Palace. She, like her other colleagues in the office, presented her defense in an attempt to reverse the dynamics.

But the vote clearly showed the opposite. Joseph Kabila loses an important battle, as evidenced by Felix Tshisekedi, who said that the majority at that time had fallen apart. UDPS deputy Paul Tshilumbu is pleased and responds to those who say the money has been circulating:

It is the master who shouts corruption. In this country, we know how the Kabila system worked: corruption, threats, human rights violations […)
