disaster victims are still waiting for one

Head of state Félix Tshisekedi visits Kibati, a town about twenty kilometers from Goma. Displaced people from the outbreak, those who have not yet been able to return home, are waiting for a reception center to be ready, a little more suitable.

More than 400 households have already settled in classrooms at a school near the site that will accommodate the victims. These displaced people come from areas at the foot of Nyiragongo.

Need for drinking water and food

They miss almost everything. Among them are children and pregnant women. They arrived three weeks ago. They are eagerly waiting to be taken care of, both by aid workers and the government. Missed, they ask for drinking water, food and a little more comfortable protection.

These are the problems that the authorities want to solve, for the neighbor, a more viable place will be set up quickly. But long before that, a mobile hospital was sent out. It is equipped with drugs, materials and water. He will take care of first aid, especially for respiratory diseases and malaria.

This hospital has a capacity of twenty beds and will be able to operate from this afternoon. But in addition to this medical device, it is urgent to quickly complete the reception center for the displaced.
